Throughout history, Iranians have always told stories about elves and fairies; Stories that are strange, audible, and amazing, rooted in their beliefs and attitudes toward the world around them. By realizing about these scary creatures in Iranian stories, we can achieve interesting and thought-provoking secrets of people’s lives, livelihoods and values. Here we are going to point out some of these strange and interesting beliefs.

There is a scary place in Sistan and Baluchestan (Tis village), which is located northwest of Chah Bahar. This dreaded place is known among the Baloch of the region as the Cemetery of the Genies or the Gen of Senat. If you go to Torqabeh (near Mashhad), you will see a tree planting where the people of Torqabeh believe that the sound of jinn can be heard at night and it is known among some residents as the “forest of jinn”.

To the east of Namak Lake and to the south of Semnan, there is a desert region known as Rig Jan or the Bermuda Triangle of Iran. Residents of the area believe that if a person goes to the jinn rig, he will disappear immediately and the jinn, ghosts and fairies will send him to the heart of the jinn rig. In the city of Mahneshan, there is an old fort known as the “Chimney of Genies”. In fact, the chimney is a mushroom-like stone created by mountain erosion. Also, in this city, there is a lake known as Lake Perry.

The people of Haftgol believe that the jinns travel in the banquets at night and want to mislead the people with dancing and singing. In the folklore of the people on the shores of the Persian Gulf, these beliefs are slightly different; Because in these areas, the fate of the people is tied to the sea. The people of Bushehr call the desert fairies "their people" or "them" and the sea fairies "blue" (Ravanipour, 1369: 13). They believe that fairies appear in two ways: one related to the sea and one related to the desert. According to the people of Bushehr, sometimes a fairy falls on a fishing net, sometimes she becomes a human being, and she wanders around the Kapars of beach dwellers

, and as soon as she sees a human, she returns to the sea.
